Fasting is one of the best practice of our life. Fasting means to be refrained from any type of eating or drinking for about 10 to 15 hours. If we think medically or scientifically then it is very much beneficial for our health. Also in some religions of the earth, it is suggested to keep fasting for a certain period of time, it may be fixed for a specified period of a year. If we talk about our own country, our majority of people are the followers of Islam. According to Islam, it is ordered to observe fast for the whole lunar or Arabic month of Ramadan. It is one of the 5 main pillars of Islam. There are huge teachings and benefits of fasting. One of the mentionable benefits of fasting is it boosts cognitive performance. It helps our body to protect them from obesity, associated chronic diseases and reduces inflammation caused by gastric problems. It even improves overall fitness also helps the fatty people to lose there over weight. It also helps us to decrease the risk of metabolic diseases. A recent study shows that fasting helps to replace the old and toxic cells of the human body with the new and healthy ones. As fasting has the capability to reduce the growth rate of toxic cell so it is very beneficial for the mild cancer, pre-cancer or even cancer patients. If we think about the fasting practiced by the Muslims (Sawm), then we will be able to see that the Muslims not only refrain from eating food or drinking liquids but also other sinful works and vices. For example; it is prohibited for the Muslims to tell a lie during fasting period, they also refrain from anger, cheating with others, fighting with others etc. Thus they can acquire good qualities and behavior through the practice of these things for a month. Another merit of fasting is that, it helps us to realize the beggar’s description of the poor and destitute people. If we talk about our country, there are lots of destitute and poor people lying on the roads and slums of or cities. Many of them earn their livelihood from hand to mouth, some also can eat only one times meal with their full appetites. They pass the rest of the day through starving for hours. We can feel their sorrows and sufferings through observing fast. And as a result, it makes us more kind and sympathetic to those helpless street children and other helpless people, and so we are much encouraged to help them with whatever we have and try to be with them. Thus Fasting is very much important and beneficial for ourselves along with the other people of our surroundings. So let all the Muslims observe fast and pray as much as the can in this month and please share this blog with as much Muslim people as you can if you are a Muslim. NB: This article is specially for the Muslims. We are not disrespecting other Religions and their followers also not forcing other people to observe fast.
